Rauh is a wolf that shouldn't have been whelped. His mother defied the alpha female of their pack during mating season and got pregnant, and the only reason she was allowed to carry to term was because an elder seer foretold that her offspring would be uncommonly gifted.
He was the only live born pup of the litter, and as such many believe his skill with healing/herbalism is due to his spirit consuming those of his littermates before birth. His mother was forced to leave the pack after his birth and leave him to be raised by the elder seer as punnishment for defying the leaders, who had put a ban on her bloodline because it often produced malformed pups.
