Fen, SilverMane's first alpha.
Fen and Niri both originated from the same pack, leaving their birth mothers behind when the two were barely adolescents. Adventure was in their hearts, you see, and Fen was the daughter of their Alpha. She also did not wish to submit to her mother's rule. To Fen, her mother was cruel and lacked compassion, perhaps out of grief with the loss of Fen's Grandfather.
The pack merely dealt with the aggressive demeanor, thinking it punishment for letting the old Alpha pass during a territory dispute. After all, who were they to challenge the birthright blessed upon Blood?
Fen couldn't watch her mother take out grief on packmates, offering only Niri a way out of the bind, as she felt it wrong as well.
The two traversed ridges, forests, and even prairies with swaths of teeming life. Sure, they hunted these areas, but it wasn't until coming across Tala, did the two decide to settle first in the nearby mountains. It was a cold, harsh winter, but the two kept themselves warm and hunted what was plentiful. A wandering wolf by the name of Dersi had come across the two together snuggled in tight circles to maintain body heat. At first, Fen accused Dersi of being a spy, but it was Niri who spoke reason. Perhaps this was fate at work.
The three settled down then, sharing stories and reasons for leaving their respective packs. Luckily, Dersi didn't seem the type to lie to Fen, and so offered him position to stay with them as a local hunter.
Dersi explained then that all Packs have a name for other clans to know and refer to their wolves as. The dark colored wolf occasionally popping crusted snow off his pelt. Fen watched him curiously, yet thoughtfully.
"SilverMane. For the harsh cold temperatures we endure and survive in." She spoke after a time, allowing the two other wolves to reflect upon their words.
"I like that. It implies we wear the element itself." Dersi responded after chewing it over.
"Me too!" Niri chimed. "It makes me think of the Shining Cave back at home."
