Sunrise came into the pack as a stranger when it was still under Moss-Fish's lead. He was previously part of a pack himself but had left on his own terms, and it was hard being a lone wolf so when he came across Onyxcrest and its silent Lead Wolf, he had become quickly fascinated... and maybe because he was trying to court a she-wolf of the pack, Marble. Onyxcrest quickly came to know Sunrise for his optimistic and gentle personality, truly fitting his namesake as he filled his packmates with hope and determination like every new sunrise does.
As time went on and Moss-Fish's life was near its end, it was apparent that the next Lead Wolf must be chosen. It was between him and Solstice, there was an obvious winner. Solstice was strong, fast, and was passionate for the pack who raised him, and Sunrise was an outsider. Yet Moss-Fish chose Sunrise... never explaining why and only promising that Sunrise would find his reason, and purpose, within the pack. There was no bitterness between him and Solstice, in fact, Solstice acts as Sunrise's advisor in everything.
