Khal

Backstory

Khal had been wandering for days after leaving his birth pack. He had just turned a year old, and now had to leave his home in search of a new place to live permanently. He had never travelled too much, as his parents had liked to stay in one place as they raised their pups to adulthood. But now, all alone, he needed to fend for himself. He hadn't seen another wolf since he'd left his pack- in fact, he hadn't seen much of anything at all since he'd left his pack, and he was hungry, and tired. But he kept trotting along, across plains and through forests.

That is, until he caught a scent. Having always been a good tracker, he crouched down and darted into some tall grass nearby. He was on a flat expanse of grass at this point, so it was a bit difficult for him to hide, but he managed. He could not yet see whatever he'd caught the scent of, but decided to follow it. It smelled like another wolf as opposed to prey- but maybe it was a wolf with a pack! Khal quickened his pace, following the scent with his nose close to the ground.

After trotting around for a little less than an hour, he found tracks- indeed, they were wolf tracks. They were about the same size as his, so he decided not to be afraid of whoever this wolf was, since they must be young, too. He bounded after the tracks until, finally, he spotted the wolf that he had been looking for. She was a lovely white and black she-wolf, oblivious to his presence, and he let out a soft woof to make himself known.

She spun around, fur bristling. "Who are you?" She demanded, her blue eyes flashing with anger- though, behind that, he could tell that she was frightened. Being nervous himself, he stuttered, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you. I'm Khal. I'm just looking for a pack, I-I don't mean to hurt you!" Her hackles lowered, though she was still visibly wary. "I'm Akela. Looking for a pack, you say? You're not the only one. Well, I'm not exactly looking for a pack; I'm looking to make one." She told him.

Khal's eyes brightened. "Really? That's great! I'm only looking to join one, and we're about the same age. Maybe we could... work together?" He offered carefully. Now that she had realized that he wasn't a threat, she was much more willing to talk. "Sure. I don't have anyone else to travel with, and I certainly don't want to be alone, so... of course you can tag along."

Akela and Khal would go on to start the Pack of the Mystic Woods, with Akela as the alpha, and Khal as one of the best hunters. Akela quickly went on to bear a litter of Khal's pups, and together, they created their own pack, which still continues to grow and thrive today.
