Rebellion
"
Excuse me?!?!" The Alpha stared at the trio.
"I said we're done." Riverstone said. Her tone was flat and monotone and stood in stark contrast with the incredulous look on their soon to be ex-alpha's face. He was an absolute dunce. He sent his scouts hunting and his hunters scouting, he had wolves leading hunts who were barely old enough to tell the difference between a deer's ass and a tree stump, and worst of all he thought he was the hottest thing this side of the mountains. Absolutely no one was allowed to criticise him unless they wanted his in group to make their life a living hell for the next season. Trout took great pride in her skills and capabilities, and watching this oaf waste the talents of her and her friends not only infuriated her, but she took it as a hit to her pride. She was done listening to this numbskull, so when Moss and Trout took her up on her offer to leave, she wasted no time.
"We are the only wolves who actually get things done around here, and we are treated like a couple of half-rotted dead fish. We aren't going to take it anymore." Mosswood spoke with an assertive tone to their voice. They weren't the biggest wolf, but they made up for their lack of size with extreme precision and skill. River had many times wondered why they had chosen to become a scout instead of a hunter with how good they would be at taking down prey, but Moss was the best scout she had ever seen, so she wasn't exactly complaining.
Trout nodded and stood in solidarity next to Moss after they spoke, almost making River crack a smile, that wolf would do absolutely anything Moss told him to.
"You can't just LEAVE! I am your Alpha! I order you to stay!" He was trying to be intimidating, but he knew that between River's size and power, Trout's speed, and Moss's expertise he stood absolutely no chance against them in a fight, and his posse of bobble heads were all useless in a fight even if they weren't too cowardly to join in in the first place.
"You
were our Alpha," Trout gave one of his signature shit-eating grins, "and now you're not, so you can't order us to do anything."
Moss smiled and looked at Trout, then River, before turning tail and strolling out of the den. River and Trout followed closely behind, Trout a little closer then necessary, and the three of them all left for greener pastures, their ex-alpha crying futilely behind them.
