Welcome Newcomers
"Hello Bear," Moss was the first to speak, "I'm if we trespassed, we have recently left our pack, and have been wondering for a while now, we did not realize this was your land."
Bear smiles a bit, "well isn't that so?" He asks with a slight chuckle, "You have done no wrong, my mate and I have very recently settled these lands so there is very little marking that it is our own. Come you must be tired, we have food."
Trout perked up immediately at the idea of rest and food, though he tried to hide it, he didn't. The dork had spent the last two days dragging his feet and acting like neither Moss or River noticed. Moss looked over to River in a silent question. The two of them shared a glance for a moment, weighing the pros and cons before coming to the same conclusion. Might as well. Moss nodded for Trout and the rest of them to follow bear into the woods. Trout stood up with an energy he hadn't shown since they left their old pack and shook the water off himself.
After a few minutes of walking along the river, Bear took a sharp turn up the hill and into the thick brush. At first Moss couldn't see the trail, Bear was seemingly leading them straight into thick woods, but then the brambles opened up into a small game trail, and a few yards after that its opened into a small meadow. It was hidden away in an oxbow of the leopard River, kept dry from floods by being a good thirty feet above the water level up a hill. The meadow itself was barren though, only one small den was hidden in the roots of the large oak tree with a few day old kill at the edge of the forest.
And out of the small hollow within the roots walked an orange coated wolf. He was an average size, strong but not huge, and his eyes were kind and welcoming.
"Harlow!" Bear called out while trotting over to him. The orange wolf, Harlow, smiled at his mate before turning to the group.
"Hello, welcome, what brings you here?" He looks confused, but the way he leans toward Bear showed how much he trusted his judgement.
"We were passing through, we have just recently left our pack and have been traveling for a while now. Bear found us while we were stopping at your River to rest." River spoke up. Her voice had an authority that Moss had always respected. When she spoke you listened.
"Well," Harlow responded, "If that's the case then welcome." He smiled at the group, "Tay as long as you need."
