Ayla was the second wolf to join Lei'luna's pack. She is a bit scatterbrained, but she means well, and she tries hard. Ayla is very friendly and outgoing. It is nearly impossible not to like her.
Ayla started out as one of the pack's hunters, but she discovered a love of herbs and herbal remedies, so she became the pack's herbalist. And she was good at it; very good, in fact. Her troubles with focusing at the task at hand vanished in the face of something she truly loved doing. Over the years, she was able to save wolves that most herbalists would have been unable to.
As her health began to fail her, she continued to serve her pack as best she could rather than retiring as is an elder's right. Kirion saw this, and he took note of it. He watched her for several moons as she struggled to do what came easily to her in her youth. When he saw how strong her loyalty and determination were, he approached her with an offer. If she desired, she would be able to become something like he was. She would not be a true Sylvan because she had not saved the life of one. But she would gain immortality so that she would be able to look after the pack that she loved so much forever as well as a healing gift on top of her knowledge of herbs. Ayla was quick to agree. Becoming an immortal restored some of her youth; enough that her joints no longer pained her, and her mind was no longer cloudy with age. But she was not restored to the prime of her life as a true Sylvan would be, and she is not as quick as she once was in her youth.
Now she teaches the younger herbalists of her pack, and when they are unable to heal a sick or injured wolf, she steps in.
