On his death bed, where he lay struggling to breathe alone in the Elder's den, he envisioned Lilypool, the pack's immortal resident, and Cherrysplash, the Demi-God that came from the Dreamlands and watched over Heartlands. They told him it was time to let go, but if he so chose, he could be with Heartlands forever, given youth once again and bestowed overwordly powers.

At first, Flamefern refused. His brother, Sparrowfeather, would continue to grow old without him. He might feel betrayed; to live such a long life with him, and at the end of it, leave him suddenly for the sake of immortality.

But Cherrysplash knew exactly what he was thinking. He showed the flame-colored male a snippet of the future, if he so chooses life: Sparrowfeather, on his death bed, encouraging Flamefern to continue being a good Warrior. Reassured, and trusting of the Demi-god, Flamefern accepts.

When he wakes, he is no longer in the medicine's den, but inside a hollow, high-ceiling cave in a random part of the desert. Sunlight beams softly from a hole in the roof, illuminating the cave and making his pelt glow. Flamefern feels anew again, as if he were back in his prime years; because he is.

As he exits the cave, pace filled with new energy, Flamefern mulls over the implications of his blessing, as well as the knowledge of the powers he now wields: Fire and Divinity.

At its most powerful, Fire will allow him to create wildfires, conjure walls of flame, engulf himself fully in flames, and much more. At Divinity's most powerful, he will be able to astral project, cover his body in light so bright it be seen for tens of miles even in daytime, and create a whip made of divine light capable of strangling or deeply lacerating anyone he chooses, or used for more peaceful purposes. But such levels of mastery are a long way away.

Flamefern is a tenacious and determined individual who finds happiness when he can help others, and naturally sports a protective role.

Canonically the son of Austin. Was raised alongside his two siblings with Dawnblaze's first litter after his mother's passing.
