"Have y'all ever seen my mama?" She runs circles around you, laughing at the confused looks on your faces. "She's the Alpha around here, y'know? I'm next in line for that power! And my mama's getting old, so it might happen soon!"
But then she sobers, her tone turning serious. "It turns out Mama named me after her mate. Her old one, that died a long time ago. She's still torn about it, even though she never tells anyone." The pup pouts, for a bit. "Which, that ain't fair! Mama needs to show her emotions too! Maybe she should talk to Miss Herbalist a bit more! She's always understanding about that stuff!"

"Am I really ready to be Alpha?" she whispered, as her mother called her over. "You were such a good leader. I don't think I'll ever be able to match you."
"Oh, Lune…" Fio leaned over, touching her nose to her pup's. "I was never as good a leader as I wanted to be. You're energetic, inspiring. Even as a young pup you were able to show such resilience that I wish I could've had."
"My time… is up." With effort, the old Alpha rolled back into a comfortable position. "I leave this pack in your hands, my daughter."
