Orion could admit that this whole 'leading a pack' thing was a bit too much for him, balancing all the different personalities that decided to follow him (And wasn't that crazy? That wolves would actually follow him, the one who always watched more than he would ever actually do, always the one in the background…), keeping count of food, toys, nesting materials for any females who needed it during their pregnancy, and the pups! Gods, but the pups would drive him mad, between them getting into things they shouldn't or disrespecting the pupsitters he assigned, he was surprised the pack didn't loose more of them over the year! Although, that would probably help him out when it comes to managing the pack, as cold as that sounded, the world they lived in was never kind to those who would extend too much kindness. Orion was a watcher, an observer, and he knew better than anyone that sometimes some wolves had to die for the good of the pack and, while reluctantly, he would be more than willing to be the one to claim those lives for the wellbeing of his pack.
"And that, pup, is why I chose you to lead" A voice sounded behind Orion. Any lesser wolf who heard it would have flinched as it seemed too otherworldly, too other, to be anything but a monster, something out of the abyss. A lesser wolf would have flinched, but Orion just about melted into the floor in relief, his beloved father, Aries, was here, and he would fix everything that was plaguing his mind. With an annoyed snort, the small fox came to sit and lean next to him, a suffocating, unnatural warmth emanating from his small form. "Oi brat, I know I have some powers, but aren't you giving me too much credit? And you're grown already, pup, be more confident in yourself!" The annoyed but amused light in the mismatched left ref and right blue eyes, was incredible familiar to Orion, and as always he could not help but duck his head and pout.
"It is normal for me to be so worried, you just told me to go on and form my own pack! Me!" The dramatic groan may have been a bit too much, but his father should feel lucky Orion had missed cuddling with his dad too much as to squash him in a fake faint. "I can barely remember to feed myself, now I have to keep track of a whole bunch of wolves, and some of them get into so many fights! For no reason! They should just become mates and spare us the angsty pining!" Orion was whining, but if anyone asked they were getting their fluffy butts kicked, what he was saying was the truth. Giggling stopped him before his rant could truly gain some steam, and the betrayed look he shot at his father only made the fiend laugh harder. "Oh pup, Orion, I am so glad you are taking this so seriously, I have not seen you be as involved with the world in so long" Aries was now smiling softly at his adopted son, it was hard to believe the now full grown wolf had at some point been a runt left for dead before the fox took him in. The Seer had worried, with the pup growing up following him around his 'escapades', he never got to socialize as a normal wolf, Orion had drifted as if detached from reality. In all honesty, this whole pack thing was a push for his normally shy son to take action and finally anchor himself in the world. And from the looks of it, it was working fantastically, his pup now had a whole pack of wolves willing to follow, fight and protect him, even if Orion could be a bit of a drama king.
"Orion seems to freeze momentarily and then shivers all over. It feels like something changed... His personality changed from Observant to Amiable.""Rhodes and Orion spent time trading stories about the adventures of the elders and the mischief of the pups."
