SootFur

SootFur was taken in as a member of the CrookedJaw Clan when she was young, and her early life with the pack was happy. When she had her first litter things took a turn. One of her three young sons was found dead outside camp, having been mangled by a bear. SootFur became a different wolf, more bitter and morose, and her other two sons were burdened with a trauma they could not yet understand. When he reached adulthood, SootFur's son SmokePaw hunted down and killed a mother bear and her young cubs in an act of vengeance and became known as BearKiller, outcast by the pack over his needless killing. SootFur does not seem to have much to say about her son's crime.

SootFur is a close ally of the Crooked Jaw leader, BoarFang, and helped to hold her accountable when she lashed out and scarred the face of her own son in a moment of rage. BoarFang and SootFur care deeply for each other.
