Biography

Imagine the shock of the pack when yet another green puppy is born. Granted, it makes more sense for this child to be green, unlike Saga's entire first litter, but it still came as a shock.
The child of Serapis and Chloris, the Pack Leader and his mate, and from his first few days of life it was clear that he had inherited his grandmother's laziness, to the disappointment of his father and annoyance of his mother.
He was the oldest of his three siblings, and loved to remind them of the fact. He would boss them around the cave, only stopping when Chloris would force him to. The youngest, Ahti, would deal with it, always reporting it to their mother, and the middle child decided they didn't want to deal with this, among other things, and left the pack.
Once the siblings had weaned, and moved into the puppy's cave, Loki would spend a lot of time with his grandmother and pupsitter, Nikephoros, and her best friend, Saga. The three wolves would lie around under trees when Saga wasn't off scouting. When she was, the grandmother and grandson would still lie under a tree.
On his first night in the new cave, something awoke him. When he'd opened his eyes, a mysterious glowing butterfly was hovering at eye level. He sat up, startled, and looked around to see if any of the other pack pups were awake. None were. He turned back to the butterfly.
"Who are you?" He demanded. The butterfly chucked.
"My name is Anubis." They responded. "You wouldn't know me. Some of the older wolves might. Palaestra, Eris and Zeus."
"I've heard about you," Loki said, slowly. "Dad's mentioned you, so has Grandma. You were one of Great-Grandma's friends, weren't you?"
The butterfly seemed to glow brighter.
"Great-Grandson of Athena? She would be happy to know that."
"But you're dead!" The pup exclaimed. "How can I talk to you?"
"You must have the ability to talk to me." The being responded. "As I'm the guardian of the lost souls, I have a rocky connection to the living world. You must be a stable connection for the other side."
The pup, confused, tried to extract more information, to no avail.
The next morning, he told his father about his experience, on his morning inspection of the pack. This attracted the attention of the entire pack, all requesting proof of his interaction. Loki told all he knew. He wasn't believed, until Anubis showed up again. The other wolves couldn't see him, but Anubis was able to provide enough information about deceased wolves to convince the pack Loki wasn't lying.
Once the wolves were convinced, they bombarded him with more questions about deceased family members and old hunting buddies. Anubis would pass across the questions to the dead, and return the answers to Loki, who would tell the enquiring wolf. The questions eventually died down for the day, but after that day wolves would constantly come up to Loki with questions for the dead, which he would answer. When he'd had enough for the day, he would sneak into the forest and hide.
When he grew up into an adult, Loki never showed interest in doing any of the work around the pack, tending to sneak away into the forest to avoid his assigned duties. Eventually Serapis gave up on getting him to contribute, so Loki was left to himself.
He and Morana had a feud, something the other pack members were careful to never get involved in. While the two would usually stick to hurling insults at the other, on occasion, the disagreements would turn physical. In one incident, Morana had snuck up on him and attacked, at some point landing a bad hit to his eye. He could still see from it, but the scar remained. The incident, however, had him fearing for his life, as it was the first time Morana had gone for the kill. He moved into another cave for safety, following his mum around.
In year 13 of the pack, he ran away for some time to himself. His father had been particularly pushy about him getting a role, and Loki was over it. While searching, far from the den, he found a strange object among the fallen leaves. Believing he had stumbled upon an abandoned kill, he ate it. He figured he wouldn't be returning to the pack soon, and needed to stay full.
It wasn't long before he started to feel ill. Cursing himself, he staggered back to the den, mad that he had accidentally eaten a rotting carcass, and disappointed that he hadn't been able to identify it as a rotting carcass. Days later, he emerged in the den, and headed straight to the herbalist, dodging his parents and grandmother.
Agni was unable to identify what was wrong with him. Loki didn't have any of the symptoms of any illnesses. Herbert had to step in, and ask Loki what he had done. Loki admitted to eating a strange meal, which Herbert was eventually able to identify as a jellyfish. Loki had accidentally made himself immortal. Agni was slightly embarrassed he couldn't identify immortality after the thing with Perseus, but in his defence the symptoms between a mut and a healthy wolf were different.
