Bloom

You walk to the small clearing situated between the pines and the shrub-steppe, lightly admiring the way it's set up. Moss on the right, where pine branches reach lowly to the ground, covering the soft plants in shade, and flat rocks to the left, warmed by the sun's rays that hit them sharply. In the middle, green, flattened grass covers the unusual clearing in a smooth layer, giving it an enticing atmosphere. Chatter from behind the shield of shrubbery brings your attention to the entrance, and a team of younger wolves walk through. The first, a pair of wolves with rich pelts of orange. One, a female with a beautiful gradient of orange, yellow and white adorning her fur while her face is accentuated by darker hues, smiles brightly with amusement at a larger male next to her. He is much darker in comparison, oranges and dusty beiges shining through black markings. His pale blue eyes focus on her solely, and a soft grin compliments the vibrant colors of his face. The two continue to talk as they pass you by, ignoring the rest of the world as they tread into the pines beside you. Another pair of wolves walk through the underbrush, this time dragging a large pronghorn doe carcass together. Their pelts contradict each other beautifully, a pale beige and a jet black gradient, striking white markings lining her dark pelt. Despite the difference in their pelts, their eyes are a similar shade of azure and ice blue. The carcass manages to get a few tail lengths away from the entrance before the pale wolf notices you. She lowers the carcass with care, earning an intrigued glance from her companion. She turns her head back to the opening in the brush, calling out just in time for a spotted pale brown wolf to emerge. 

“Flutter, could you take this to the prey pile with Petal?” She asks kindly. Flutter acknowledges her with a nod, picking up the limp cadaver from the leg and disappearing into the pines with Petal at his side. With a simple ‘thank you' to end the conversation, she turns her attention to you. 

“You’re new here aren’t you?” She asks again. You confirm her suspicions with a light nod, and she smiles softly. 

“Well, I'm Bloom, but most people call me Brave. I’m the daughter of Hound and Haven, I’m guessing you’ve met them already?”  

“Yes, I have. They’re very...inviting.” You answer, concluding it with a sweet word. 

“Yeah, they’ve been the same with me my whole life. But they care, and they’re accepting, so I can’t say I'm complaining.” She informs humorously, sending a loving glance over to her father sitting on the warmed rocks at the other side of the clearing. He listens intently to a pup as they describe how their day had been going so far, agreeing on points such as ‘butterflies are better than beatles’ and ‘the fluffy clouds are better than the flat ones’. 

“You haven’t met the hunting parties yet, have you?” You shake your head in response.

“They’re right through here. We should catch the other party before they leave, come on!”
