Bay may look pretty, but she had a terrible life. She never knew her parents. The earliest memory she had was being all alone in the wild. Bears and mean packs would try to tear her pelt off. Bay thought it would never end.
"Hello?" a wolf asked one day. "Who are you?"
"Bay," Bay answered softly.
"I'm Wink." he replied. "I have a pack. We have more room for pretty wolves like you."
"Thanks," Bay thanked him. She knew that this could be a trick, so she was surprised when Wink showed her his den.
"You can settle in," Wink told her. Then he left. Bay looked around wearily. A male wolf sat all alone in a corner. She walked over to him and she could tell by his matted pelt and sad eyes that he had been abandoned too.
"I'm Bay," Bay greeted him.
"I'm Starling," he replied. After that, Bay knew that they were meant to be together. Forever.
A couple years later, the great food shortage started. Wolves were leaving the pack left and right. Bay stared close to Starling for comfort. When the Alpha, Wink, died, Bay stayed in her den for a month. One day, when Starling came back from a failed hunting trip, he found that his beloved mate was dead. Fast forward again, Starling was sleeping by a magical, glimmering pool. He was dreaming of Bay. Suddenly, he woke to find Bay beside him, alive.
