The two pups splashed along the creek bed following the minnows that were still able to swim in the puddles at the bottom. In their minds they were swimming in the river, chasing big shiny fish with colorful scales to take back home to the pack. For now they weren't allowed to play by the river, but the pair had big dreams for their future. The blue eyed pup pounced on a tiny crab then waggled his tail and ran back to his brother to bump his forehead against the other pup's.
"We're going to be the best fishers in the pack when we're older! We've just got to get them to let us near the river and we'll catch everything it's got!"
"Yeah! You're already so good at catching all the little minnows I bet you'll be really amazing. And you know, if they don't let us near the river soon we can always sneak over there," the smaller amber eyed pup said as he stalked low to the ground with his belly fur brushing the puddles beneath him.
The blue eyed pup looked sidelong at his little brother, sensing that some mischief was about to be made and that he would undoubtedly be swept along in it. The little pup just turned his head and grinned, neither confirming nor denying the suspicions of his older brother.
