Biography
If not discovered in a confrontation, no human would peg Snow as the Alpha of her pack. With a calm temperament, Snow is prone to observing her fellow pack-mate's responses to a situation before issuing an official stance for the pack to take.
However, no wolf would mistake Melting Snow as anything less than her pack's Alpha. Commanding with a subtle flick of her ear, or an aggressive spike in her scent, Snow is the clear mastermind behind her pack's actions.
Melting Snow was born in the coldest parts of the tundra, to a pack known as the Luna Pack. Reared by the Luna's pup sitter, Bright Heart, Snow was born an outcast from day one. Bright Heart did her best to protect Melting Snow, but not even the kindly matron could protect Snow from the aggressive snarls of her pack mates.
"Traitor blood." Blooming Yew snarled, ears pinned against her ruff as her tail raised aggressively. Cackling, Frozen Paws and Black Nose battered the smaller wolf around with intentionally sharpened claws. "We should just chase you out right now."
Even the elders of the pack scowled at Snow as she passed, critiquing ever hunt the younger wolf brought in.
And so, when Bright Heart finally passed away- years of pupsitting having finally caught up with the elderly matron- Melting Snow was unsurprising by the events that followed.
Snow didn't utter a word of protest as her mother's pack chased her out. Bright Heart had dedicated her life to keeping this pack alive, and Melting Snow wouldn't bring shame to her mother's lifework. Instead, Snow merely raised her head high, leaving behind her enemies with her pride in tact.
Snow would find her own home, build her own pack. A place where even the youngest pup felt heard, cared for, and valued. A strong pack, full of love; a pack filled with Bright Hearts.
Perhaps it was unoriginal, Melting Snow mused in the dead of night, to name her new family Light Heart. But curled up between Frozen Tundra and Dark Stripe, Snow couldn't bring herself to regret it. Bright Heart wouldn't want to be the name of the pack- Snow's mother was far to humble for that- but...
But the pack was in her honour, and Melting Snow knew Bright Heart would be proud of her. Raising a pack with love in it's core.
