Biography
LAYAS LERINTHYS
is an emotional, volatile god who both seeks companionship and pushes those close to them away. They are a fluid god, shifting between male, female, neither, and both. They reign over solace at sea, sea merchants, fairy tales, silver branches, unexpected growth, and obsession.Â
They love passionately, often taking mortal lovers and attempting to ascend them to godhood so that they can stay together forever. This always fails, leaving them hopeless yet still so desperate to love.
As well as many things, Lerinthys is a deal-maker. Find one of their emples along the coastline of the life-planet Baea and make a sacrifice to Them; you will find yourself in a dream-state with the god themself and negotiations will begin. Beware, a deal with Lerinthys cannot be broken, either by you or the god, so be certain of what you're asking for.
They are the sibling to Elysium, maintaining a loving relationship with him, though their relationship with him is new and fragile. Their fathers are Aoene and Aerugo, though they don't speak with Aoene often and are estranged from Aerugo.
Lerinthys' moon's surface is cold and barren, with sheer icy cliffs and vast cold oceans. Their surface is unlivable for mortals, often dropping far below zero. The only life on their surface is multiple varieties of algae within the oceans and growing along icy cliffs and mountains.
Layas Lerinthys inhabits the second moon of Baea, smaller than Elysium but larger than Cypselus, who is His beloved son.Â
To spite Lord Elysium, Layas Lerinthys claimed strong control of the tides, using this stolen power to wreak havoc on Elysium-blessed vessels and to spare those Elysium wishes to sink. Thrice a month, Lerinthys eclipses Elysium, cutting off His control over Baea completely. Lerinthys stokes the fires of crime and infidelity while eclipsing His brother, ensuring that Her influence is known.
His surface, while not lush and livable, is nothing to scoff at itself. Punctuated by ornate ice spires, fantastical desolate mountains, and ravines endlessly deep and jagged. No flora or fauna makes its life here; the below-zero temperatures make it nigh impossible for anyone but a god to traverse. Raging, salty oceans surround ice-covered continents and buffet the shores, carving up extraordinary cliffs and shorelines.
Lerinthys is a small moon orbiting the terrestrial planet Baea. It is one of three moons, and is inbetween the sizes of the others, being around the size of Earth's moon. It averages a temperature of -97° Fahrenheit, and its surface is covered with icy formations, ravines, and mountains.
