Biography
Einherjar was born into his first pack as a weak, only pup. Barely weaned, he was kicked out and adopted into a new pack existing of other lone wolves who have taken it upon themselves to raise young orphans into adults.
He lived there the rest of his adolescence as a nameless wolf, spending his time helping take care of the youngest ones. Always well-behaved, he never put himself before anyone else. Most of this was in fear of being abandoned again, but also because he wanted to make the other little ones happy, much unlike how his own puphood had been.
But his dedication took a toll on him, giving away the best things, working himself to death for the other ones and spending every day like a dependable big brother. He was tired and spent his lonely nights crying. One night when overtaken by anxiety, Einherjar ran away from his foster pack and never returned.
It was that night that he ran into what surely must have been a mythical being. Fur that shone in the moonlight, eyes beautiful and piercing, a strong presence. It noticed him and Einherjar cowered. But the creature did not pose a threat. It stared at him for a few seconds and then continued on it’s way. Einherjar spent the rest of that night recalling the event.
Days came and passed as Einherjar roamed valleys and mountains. But he always returned to that one spot where he had crossed paths with that ethereal creature. What he never expected, was that they would meet again. Much less did he expect that the creature would call out to him. Einherjar yelped and whimpered but the creature approached him and demanded silence. So silence ensued when Einherjar discovered that the creature was a wolf just like him.
It asked him some things, like his birthplace, his name and his intentions. Eihnerjar could only answer the last question, telling the stranger that he had ran away from his foster family and that he was lost, alone and not a threat at all. He even made it clear that he would leave right away if requested. That he would no longer trespass, hadn’t taken any prey and that he was sorry. But the stranger motioned for Einherjar to follow.
Destination reached, what lay before him was a small paradise. Trees, rocks, burrows and even caves. An open place, grass and foliage full of critters to hunt, a vast forest nearby and a river just around the corner. A small pile of fresh kill sat in a spot that looked like a small hoard. The intimidating stranger gruffed and Einherjar snapped his slack jaw shut.
“My name is Wōden and this is my home. If you wish to stay, I shall not oppose to it.” He looked over to Einherjar, thick fur dancing in the wind. “Do you accept my invitation?”
Einherjar swallowed and greatfully lowered his head in submission. “…yes.”
“Then,” the other wolf showed a stoic smile “Welcome home, Einherjar.”
