Eyes, nose, skin, and claws are all touched by stars. At least her mother says so. She isn't the oldest. Nor is she first in line for royalty. That would go to Chance or Athala. But Chance went to the anarchy pack with her aunt and Athala is almost completely forgotten about. So it's very likely that Lunashi will be next leader.
Being future leader is the only thing Lunashi really has going for her. Her parents are busy, she doesn't have many friends, and she isn't really skilled in anything. She doesn't even want to be leader, Lunashi might not be respected as the pack has developed it's own system of heroism and achievement.
His mother, after Lucius brought Orthel to try and replace Lunashi, has decided that he needed training. So for a few weeks, Lunashi was put in charge of the pack. To the packs credit, the wolves did listen when he said that we are moving to the glacier. Some wolves seemed thrilled, others seemed to be in disbelief. It's cold and the hunting is hard. But it builds character?
When Lunashi's mother passed, the leadership ritual was interupted. Lunashi noticed the pack was in chaos. With the cold making hunters go out more often and scouts out as well as the pupsitters taking extra care of the pups, the leftover population was training the weaned puppies. Even the adols were out for apprentice duties. There were barely any wolves to defend from the Shadowkin who have been thriving in the environment.
Voidbreak claimed leadership over all of Silverfell and barely even had any battle. The only casualty was Rust who was killed and nobody knows who did it as Voidbreak was at the center and Sylus was fighting Vandelian. Aetherius hates killing and Blindside was with Creo.
Despite Voidbreak gaining Leadership, he let Lunashi keep his mother's crown.
