Garrit had multiple scouting partners throughout his career but none of them stuck around long enough for him to develop a meaningful relationship with them. Soon he became the most experiences as he stuck around the longest compared to the other scouts. Eventually another scout came along called Monte and they got on extremely well, unlike the other scouts she stuck around and was also a female causing Garrit to develop strong romantic feelings towards her even though he knew it wouldn't work out due to Vincent being the breeding male, sooner or later she would have his pups and not Garrits, which did happen. Although Garrit was saddened by the rules he did vow to himself to be a second father to her pups as he noticed Vincent neglect most of the new-borns.
