Hawks

An ambitious pup, he wants to be the best of the pack. He wants to be faster than the legendary Nightshade, wiser than the leader Agethern, stronger than the guardian Vandelian. But instead of being arrogant, Hawks wishes to be one to be respected and is respectful to others in return. Even as a pup he tries to stay out of trouble. Practices his manners, and does his best in everything he does.

He was the first born of six puppies and thus the first to have a pattern known as red wings. He takes great pride in having the marking. He also takes great pride in his family lineage. Nightshade is his grandmother, one of the most powerful packs known to the world is where his father is from. He's related to the original group of Silverfell. So Hawks has a lot going for him. He also practices his jump so that it's like his wings allow him to fly and someday he hopes to catch the bird in which he got his name. They are always so far out of reach. But someday, somehow he is determined to catch one.

Queen Agethern brought back a new friend. Another puppy his age with black wings. She was shy, so Hawks takes special care to make sure she feels at home. What better way to be a heroic figure than to set an example to how others should be treated? Her black wings remind him of Ravens and crows. So Hawks promised himself to treat those birds as friends. He enjoys listening to her tell stories.

Within those stories was mentioned an owl. The bird that attacks from the dark. A bird known to take on even the red hawks that Hawks was named for. They terrify him. He's heard stories about large owls taking puppies in the night. Their sharp claws and beak, the ability to fly silently. Hawks hopes that someday he will never encounter an owl. But someday he hopes he does so he could avenge all the pups lost to owls.
