GoldenRod was raised in a small pack. This pack ruled the forest, for as small as they were, they were fierce, fearless warriors, who bowed to no one, and never took no for an answer. The other packs in the forest were afraid of them, and forced to share their prey. Son to the alpha, Goldenrod experienced first hand the way the other wolves trembled in fear from his father, and he didn't like it. He was taught to use his charms to manipulate other wolves into trusting him, so that he could catch them in their weak moments and take advantage of him. GoldenRod knew it was wrong, but didn't have a choice.
It wasn't until his father went too far one day, that Goldenrod realized something needed to be done. His best friend, Riverstrike, couldn't just stand by and watch as the Alpha controlled everybody. Riverstrike challenged the Alpha, trying to take over, but the Alpha made a big deal about killing him in front of the entire pack, including Riverstrike's littermate, ShadowStalker.
Goldenrod couldn't take it anymore. He convinced ShadowStalker to run away with him, and they moved to the Mountains, to start their own pack. Goldenrod is now the Alpha, and leads his pack with responsibility and protection, instead of vengeance. His charming personality is used to befriend other packs, not take advantage of them. He has made friends with many other alphas of nearby packs, including Vatra, the wolf who managed to overthrow Goldenrod's father at last, and now leads the forest pack.
