He and Hodd used to live in a same biome a long time ago, which is why they have similar pelt colors. Freyer came to the greener regions in seek for a new life, one of security and bountiful of food. Of course his first welcome into a pack wasn't the most pleasant. At first he thought he and Sigrún understood each other, the next she sets him up to watch after a pup that wasn't her own. For a long while he didn't received a name to be called by, left outside of the den to fend off the winds. Yet, he simply accepted this, as being alone in the wild was worst than being invisible in a pack that still provided food. He taught the skittish pup all he could, watch him grow before Sigrún approach him one day.
Behind her was Erna with her head hanging down and a curled lip, Fenrir stood tall by his 'mistress' as if he was brainwashed. Sigrún gave him a chance to prove himself by sending him out to hunt and relief him of his pupsitting duties. He of course accepted, knowing that he would be thrown out into the wilderness if he does not prove his worth. He did eventually achieved Sigrún's request and was given the name Freyr, which sounds a bit funny- but a worthy title to have.
He certainly caught the clashing personalities of Fenrir and Erna, hopefully one day Fenrir would be replaced or Erna so he can stop their endless bickering during hunts.
