A beautiful (well, for Markarth, anyways) young wolf, Dawnstar is a fast and moderately skilled hunter. She was once excitable; hyperactive, restless. Her inoffensive appearance allowed her to get away with more than most, and she used that to her advantage often.
She settled down when she had pups---but only one survived; Moon-run is her pride, and she is incredibly protective and cautious over him.
The loss of her pups has slowly made her more strange and withdrawn.
She has fabricated strange relationships between herself and other members of the clan. Whereas before her pup's birth she was great friends with Leaf-fall, she now keeps away from her, even telling other members of the clan that she distrusts her. She does not allow Moon-run to play or mingle with Leaf-fall's pups, though Moon-run disobeys his mother at every chance.
She hates most of all Jorvik, and will lash at him if he mingles near her Moon-run for too long.
At one point, Wardog and Radioface had a conversation as to what should be done with Dawnstar. They consulted Leaf-fall, in hopes that her foraging and research might have an answer to the apparent soul illness that plagues Dawnstar. Leaf-fall is only confident that it stems from the loss of her pups, but nothing more. For now, Dawnstar remains in the clan as a shell of who she once was.
