Biography
Yarrow had once been a desert wolf. The feel of the warm sunlight on her pelt and the hot, sweet taste of the air was a paradise like none other. As an adolescent, she'd spend her leisure time chasing lizards, or observing poky plants, or spooking desert birds with her littermates.
At night, when it was cooler, she'd accompany the elder wolves on their hunting trips. The turmoil of bringing down a large animal as prey was exhilarating for her. When a hunt went successfully, Yarrow felt almost giddy with joy.
But this happy, carefree existence was bound to end sometime. Soon, the wolves of the stars came down and snatched away all the water. Herd after herd left the desert, leaving only the small, scrawny creatures in the territory.
Nearly all of Yarrow's packmates starved. From the oldest elders to the smallest pups—no one was safe from the star wolves' ruthless claws.
Left with no other option, and haunted by the terrible suffering and death she'd seen in her homeland, Yarrow left the desert in search of a new territory. A place where no wolf would suffer as her packmates had in that dry, star-forsaken land.
