Birch was born in a small disorganized pack of about 6 wolves, including herself. The pack lived on the border of the grasslands and the forest. They did not get along well though, and the alpha did nothing to discipline them. The hunting party was a mess, hardly bringing back any food. The hunters (Birch included) we’re constantly getting into heated arguments. In rare cases, disagreements would spark into fierce scraps. The incompetent alpha couldn’t stop the fighting between the hunters, and the pack looked like it was on the verge of going hungry. So, the pack broke apart, some going to the grasslands and others moving to the forests. Birch was confident she would be able to fend for herself, who needs a pack anyway? She was the best hunter/ tracker in her party (or so she said) But as she was about to set off to live in the deciduous forest, she realized she had never been there before. She had only visited the grasslands, and she did NOT want to live in the grasslands. That’s where her stupid old hunting party was, and she was fed up with them. “I’m not living in the same biome as those jerks if I can help it” she grumbled. Suddenly a thought struck her. There was one scout in the pack, an awkward and quiet wolf named dust. Birch and Dust weren’t exactly friends, but Dust was nicer than any of the other wolves (In Birch’s opinion anyway) Birch quickly found Dust and asked her to accompany her to the forest. Dust accepted, and the two found a nice place to live at the edge of the woods. They made a good team, Birch hunting while dust scouted. Dust was satisfied with living alone, but Birch wanted a pack. When Dust returned to the den saying that Storm requested them to join the Yosemite pack, Birch didn’t hesitate. TBC
