the journey was long and hard from his homeland. he had spent his entire life there, under the reign of his mother and in a once flourishing pack. his mother was a fierce leader, believing that nothing was too much for her pack. her wolves often initiated skirmishes in an attempt to push the neighboring packs further and further back. polemos was one of the top raiders in having soaked in his mother's lessons like a sponge, and he took pride in his status amongst his pack.
but his mother's cruelness could only be tolerated for so long. after a raid polemos raid lead to the death of two young females, the neighboring leader struck back. in the dead of night, he lead a war party into the heart of polemos' homeland and demanded that his mother answered for her crimes. some of her own wolves turned on her, having been long tired of her cruel doings. polemos stood by his mother's side as an all-out bloodbath ensued, taking wolves down one by one; some friend, some foe. his mother was taken down in that battle, her throat ripped clean out by one of her own wolves. polemos was devastated.
the pack was in ruins after that day. the traitors either joined neighboring packs or were driven out, and everyone expected polemos to take over as their leader. but the wounds his heart held were too deep, and he left his former pack. he sought out to start a new one, determined to follow in his mother's pawsteps as a feared leader.
