Ranger is quite the oddball. She speaks strangely, and she says she's been hawking wares since she was a pup. She prioritizes profit over most things, though not to a malicious extent.
Angela had originally found her as an adolescent, making sales pitches to an ocelot in the jungle. She was alone, but hadn't seemed at all intimidated at Angela's approach. While the ocelot took off, Ranger turn her pitch on Angela.
Angela had brought up the strange happenings as of late, and that the young wolf should get back to her pack, but Ranger had just scoffed, and said that she had never needed one.
Upon inspecting Ranger's wares, Angela realized that most of the things she carried were utterly foreign to her, despite all of her experience. They weren't any of the new and strange herbs that had been popping up recently, either. When asked, Ranger vaguely replied with "A girl has her secrets."
Angela, always one to be drawn towards the unknown, made a deal with the strange wolf. In exchange for being able to come and go from her pack as she pleases, and always getting a share during meals, Ranger would tell her about where she came from whenever she visited.
Ranger had no trouble living on her own, but a nice meal in good company for nothing but information sounded like a good deal to her, and so she had agreed.
