Mt. Luna had been uninhabitable for decades. Harsh winters, cold and filled with snow, steep terrain with nothing but giant rocks and evergreen forests called only for the fittest; mountain goats that were anything but clumsy and critters that could find shelter between the rocks.
With the change of climate, the conditions became better - bearable. The winters were still harsh, and the terrain was equally as steep, but survival was easier. Thus, starting with deer and other prey animals who seemed to take shelter in the mountains, later followed by predators such as mountain lions and bears, one by one they started to get comfortable on Mt. Luna.
Finally, wolves followed as well. Animal conservators had never taken notes of wolves on Mt. Luna, so it was a great surprise to see one - then two and later a whole small pack roaming the mountain. The roots from which Mt. Luna Pack blossomed.
Marqius was the first wolf to set foot on Mt. Luna. Alone at first, just a young wolf chased from his pack as he posed a threat to the elderly alpha. He believed he would claim the territory for himself and create a comfortable home for a family on the Mt. Luna. The evergreen forests surrounding the mountain offered a wide variety of prey and were great for creative hunting tactics such as stalking and ambush. The top of the mountain was rocky and lonely. The rocks formed cave systems that protected the wolves from the harsh elements and climate, while the solitude was perfect for raising pups.
Not long after Marqius, another young wolf found its way to Mt. Luna. Montana, a lone female used to the steep mountain terrain. Fated to meet, Marqius and Montana became dated mates. And the founders of Mt. Luna Pack.
Their unbreakable bond and their compatible strong personalities made them the perfect leaders that ensured the Pack's survival for many generations to come.
