Esperanza

Blinded by the lights, she followed them through the endless woods, lost forever in a maze of oak and vines. Following and following, in hopes of finding the pack she lost all those years ago.

In a dense forest such as this, pups are likely to get lost on their own. A simple fluke in pathing or a small distraction can cause an entire trail to be lost. Many pups either never return, or are found dead by their pack days after.
On the rare occasion pups do return, they often claim to have been guided. When asked by whom, despite having happened across multiple generations, it was always the same answer. 'The Lost One!' The pups would cry out in glee, eyes almost spilling with excitement. Of course, no wolf would believe them, chuckling it off as the wild imagination of a pup. After all, who were to believe that the same wolf guided all these lost pups home?
Till this day, the tales of The Lost One continue, but it seems that it will stay a myth for a much longer time for now…
