Basilisk, who's name comes from European folklore and references a great King, was a loner estranged from his family. He left them behind to start his own pack, who's members have never heard his story. His mate, Rust, is the only one who has even the slightest hint as to what he suffered in his original pack, but even still, she knows little. He doesn't consider himself to be the lead wolf of his pack, and instead sees himself as more of an advisor; simply there to make sure that nobody gets hurt. He doesn't like the idea of leaders who lead for the sake of power, and refuses to associate with them.
He makes a point of making sure that every member of his pack gets the same opportunities as the last and the next and considers himself of equal value. To him no wolf is worth more or less than the others, and it keeps the morale of his pack high. He teaches his heir the same values, and hopes to instill a sense of pride and confidence in all who meet him.
