Grim's backstory

Grim watched the rainfall whilst laying on her back, The human rubbing her belly. "We should be on alert Grim." The lead and first guard dog, Kel, Huffed as he watched Grim roll her eyes and get comfy.

"The humans can defend themselves! After all they DO hunt big animals for their weird 'trophies' _{whatever those are..}" Grim responded briskly with a stretch. "Besssiiiddeeesss we never get to relax! They're so demanding." She pouted as she laid upon the puffy soft dog bed.

"You're lucky the humans spoil you, the least we could do is repay them for our care _{ungrateful mutt}" Kel grumbled as he went back to keeping guard, Grim let out an annoyed huff and rested her head low.

Her ears perked at the sound of the humans talking. Maybe she'll be lucky enough to hear something interesting, As the night went on Grim whined in boredom hoping Kel would come play or help her beg the humans for food despite eating a half hour ago.

Suddenly Kel started barking and growling. "Ha ha Kel, Trying to convince me to get up? You tried that earlier!" Grim mocked stopping when the humans grabbed their flashlights. "What you guys believe him? He's old! If anything it's probably no-" Before she could react Kel was flung back with a ear-piercing shriek as the humans tried to carefully get to the tent.

Grim was frozen, 'What are you doing? You're bred for this! You need to help..' She snapped back to reality to the sound of her owners scream and yelling at her to help. 'I want to live…No, I deserve to live' She saw the human reach for his gun when she snatched it. As the human began to praise her she thought 'Thanks for buying me time' as she tossed the gun into the nearby stream. Afterwards she ran.

Grim kept running as fast as her legs could take her no matter how much it hurt, Before she could safely stop she was tackled. Struggling to look up with sharp claws against her throat she saw Kel. His ear was torn off and there was a long claw mark the went down his right eye to his chest. He growled loudly. "YOU BITCH! YOU KILLED THEM! YOU LET THEM DIE!" He opened his jaws ready to clamp down on her neck.

His jaws bit her collar instead giving her enough time to use her hind legs and kick him off, She looked back to see her collar specifically her name tag bent by his sharp teeth. Fear stroke her as she began to back up. "We WILL find you! You can't escape your punishments." Kel muffled as he limped away.

Weeks later
Grim found herself malnourished and weak, Due to her picky palette she refused to eat and berries or rats found and thanks her laziness she wasn't good at hunting. "I'm gonna die out here.." She muttered weakly when she suddenly heard a loud clamp and a yowl.

When she made her way over she saw a wolf stuck in a bear trap pulling to get out. She approached the wolf carefully to which the wolf noticed and growled. "Back off human pet!" Grim was taken back by the sudden aggression. She shook away that thought and examined the trap.

"I know how to open it! I've watched my humans set them up plenty of times!" She stated happily but it quickly faded into malice. "Too bad I'm just a human's pet! I guess I can't help you~" Grim smirked as she started barking and howling. 'I can finally get a new home! I'll be bathed, cared for, and no work!' She thought happily.

"WAIT! Please, I'll do anything!" The wolf begged as she struggled harder when the sound of humans and other dogs were near. Grim kept going until she remembered something. 'Kel is alive, He could have found them first, I'll be punished for letting the old humans die..' Grim stopped and was ready to take off. "Please I promise I'll do anything just get me out.." The wolf cried, Grim thought for a quick second.

"I'll help you if you grant me your service in helping me survive out here." Grim exclaimed quickly. The wolf was about to protest until the dogs came closer. "DEAL!" Grim then quickly undid the trap and helped the wolf get away from the pack of hunting dogs and humans.

Once they had gotten far enough and to cover in a small and simple den the wolf began to lick her bruises clean while Grim sat around waiting for the heavy rain pour to stop. "It may be raining for a while.." The wolf hummed as she watched the she dog.

Grim groaned in disgust and irritation as she and the wolf traveled through the rain and mud. "You asked me to teach you how to hunt!" "We won't catch anything out here! It's cold wet and disgusting!" The wolf snickered quietly. "If ya can't handle a little rain and mud then you defiantly won't survive out here~" The wolf said, her voice smooth and calm.

Grim rolled her eyes when she noticed something. "Hey.. I never got you're name!" Grim exclaimed to the wolf. The wolf huffed a small and quiet response. "_Stream.."
