Lagertha has always been a fighter. She's fierce, protective, and will not hesitate to risk her life for the rest of the pack. There's a reason Ragnar fell in love with her, after all.
She's the Alpha's mate but not once has she let that go to her head. Humble, dutiful, and sporting a ferocious streak a mile long, this strong, selfless wolf has forgone meals, taken on pupsitting duties, and even served time as an Herbalist, all to keep her mate's beloved pack from falling apart.
Her loyalty comes from this desire to prove herself, as she's a female wolf fighting to gain recognition in a male-dominated world. She came from one of the only female-centric packs in the entirety of her birth region, with the male wolves taking on the roles of pupsitters and Herbalists. Females fought, hunted, and protected the pack, and Lagertha was the leader of it all. She was the daughter of the Alpha and the youngest Elite of the pack, though everyone respected her because she earned it, not because of fear for her title.
One day, however, the time came for her to take over her mother's pack at a terribly young age. The pressure was on her, and though she loved taking care of her pack members, she wasn't ready to lead, so she left secretly in the middle of the night, never to return.
Crossing regions was the hardest for her, finding most male wolves only found females good for pupsitting and breeding. It made her bitter and angry until she met Ragnar, who treated her with the familiar respect that males had treated her back home. It took a while for her to trust him, but soon that tentative trust turned to love, and she now leads over a pack with the mate she's pledged her life to, happier than she's ever been.
