Princess Red

Red was born both blind and deaf. She was a hindrance to her birth pack and only used up resources. Because of this, she was thrown out, to fend for herself in the wild. It seemed obvious she wouldn't survive. However, her luck finally changed when Lillemor, the bear of the enclave, found her. She took Red in and cared for her, hoping to be able to get her adopted into another pack. Nobody seemed to want the poor puppy until a family came and took pity on the little puppy. The adoptive pack wasn't all good though, and right now, they were in the middle of a war. Destiny Calling, the alpha of the Ashenwish Pack, had been in a war with them for quite some time. The adoptive pack had a wonderful idea, an idea for how to win in a way. The alpha of the pack went to meet Destiny Calling in neutral territory to discuss peace terms. The atmosphere was tense as the two leaders glared at each other. "I will let you take the disputed territory", said the alpha, showing on the map the territory they had been fighting over. "On one condition. That your next alpha will be this puppy." Red was carried over. Destiny Calling could tell the puppy had a problem, it kept on bumping into things and would fall over frequently. But Destiny Calling decided peace was too important and that her healer could probably help. "Fine." She agreed, looking at the small puppy. Red became Princess Red and with help from the pack herbalist, Lilium convallium, Princess Red was able to learn without her sight or hearing. At least she still had the all important scent. As Princess Red grew, she learned how to identify things with smell only and recognize the feel of objects as well. By now, she was an adolescent and was learning quicker than ever. Liliuokalani Convallium continued to teach her and she even learned to hunt small animals, having caught a rabbit and a weasel. It seemed that the alpha's plan was failing, Ashenwish Pack would not be left with a crippled useless leader, but rather, with a strong, perseverant alpha that would lead the pack well.
