Biography
Fiery attitude to go with her coloring, born to Willow as the oldest of her litter. She has another sister, Pebble, from a previous litter. Taken on by Meadow for pupsitting.
Shadow, Pebble's father, became pair bonds with her mother, Willow. Snapdragon wanted him to go away and it to be just her littermates and her mother again. They adopted Alder, her new brother from the enclave not long after, Snapdragon also didn't appreciate the new sibling.
Her mother and Shadow adopted another pup, Carnation, her new sister.
Willow and Shadow brought home another pup, Branch, and by this point, she wasn't all too upset over the new sibling.
Her pupsitter, Meadow, left the pack so her pupsitting would be continued by her older sister and acting pupsitter, Pebble.
Willow and Shadow adopted Wiley.
Became an adolescent and began training under Bluebell to be a scout.
Her scouting teacher ruined the lives of Salem and Klemie. The two had been happily mated and an example of the love Snapdragon wanted someday until Bluebell crashed their pup's birth by confessing his feelings for her. Klemie left the pack in the middle of the night with her pup not a day later. Snapdragon and most of the Western Crow's Haven's wolves were disgusted by his homewrecking behavior.
Bluebell was chased from the pack by Salem, and while Snap was happy to see him go, she also was a bit disappointed she wouldn't get to go scouting anymore.
Started spending her free time with Wiley, whose teacher also left him without anyone to train with. Snapdragon still didn't see any of the pups her mother and Shadow adopted as siblings, and only considered Pebble a half-sibling, but she had to admit Wiley was good company.
Her mother and Shadow adopted Mimus. Snapdragon blamed Shadow for the new mishap, but while hating on him, she remembered she didn't even know who her real father was and for all she knew it could be him, and maybe he and Willow had just had a fight during the time she was pregnant. It'd be a poor excuse, but it might be possible.
Wiley went back to his training, and the friendship they had begun building began to fall apart when Snap decided she would find something else to do while she waited for Salem to figure out his gig or her to reach an age when she'd be allowed to scout on her own.
Salem retired, Snap wasn't too bothered though, she knew he wouldn't be comfortable taking an apprentice within the rest of her adolescence.
Aged into adulthood and finally got back out to adventuring.
Snapdragon could barely contain their amusement whilst giving her daily report to her mother. Zorro got a little too cocky and thought he was "leader of the bees". He ended up getting coated in bee stings after trying to steal some honey from his "loyal subjects".
Began spending her free time scouting out a new place she called the Coniferous Forest.
Caught Pox, which she suspected she got from Scry who had it not long ago, but Alder was able to cure it easily.
Took Redbud as an apprentice, she found it fun to be exploring with another again.
Her mother fell pregnant by Shadow, and Snapdragon already found the pups annoying. Willow claimed it would be the last pups she brought home, and the thought kept Snapdragon hopeful.
Willow gave birth to a litter of three, and the middle pup died after its birth. Snap felt guilty over her death, she kind of looked forward to these siblings. She did spend a few moments in the den with her surviving siblings, Spider and Brook before deciding that was enough for her.
Stopped exploring the Coniferous Forest, she wanted to finish her scouting missions in that particular area later, and instead focused on re-scouting other places.
Redbud's training came along well, he now knew most poisonous plants and many different animal tracks belonging to prey and predators.
Redbud's training ended as he reached adulthood, the two would no longer get to scout together anymore, but Snapdragon was still proud to have taught him.
Her littlest sister, Brook, was taken to the enclave and traded by their mother. Shadow gave out the news to her and her other siblings. Snapdragon pitied her brother, Spider, and felt sorry for her mother.
Began wondering what else was out in the world for her to explore, and not just scout. Snapdragon began thinking about leaving the Western Crow's Haven Pack for a life of sole adventure, but she would feel guilty leaving her mother and brothers behind.
Gave up her scouting job, and then narrowly stopped herself from walking out on her pack. This was the only home Snap had ever known, and she couldn't bring herself to leave her family without a goodbye. The goodbye would never come though, because it was also too hard. Snapdragon caved, she had spent most of her life despising most of the large family she had because they weren't biological. It sounded petty when she thought about it, but at the moment it felt right. Maybe this was the time to make up for her stupid thoughts.
Took back her job as a scout, she hadn't really been gone long enough for her family to be worried anyway.
Spider became an adolescent and left the pack to be on his own. Snapdragon was honestly a little sad. She knew he looked up to her and she kinda felt proud of it.
Oak died, he was older, and it was peacefully in his sleep, but something inside Snapdragon really hurt, and she couldn't tell what. She never had any relationship with him, he was just any other pack member.
Fell into a romantic relationship with Sulley. Even though she never really cared for the idea of a mate after the Klemie and Salem thing, she did enjoy their time together.
Became pregnant through her flings with Sulley. She may have been open-minded going in when it came to a mate, but she knew for a fact that she never wanted pups. Snapdragon loathed the idea of telling Sulley, and especially her own family, but knew no way out of her predicament.
Sulley was shocked, to say the least, about the pups. They both knew it would happen eventually if they stayed together, though neither really thought that far ahead. He didn't take it well.
A few days after telling Sulley, he ran off. She searched everywhere, but no one knew where he went and she accepted he had gone. Snap knew deep down if she was him she would've too. She didn't want to be a parent.
Snapdragon finally decided she wouldn't be a parent. She hadn't told anyone besides Sulley and never even consulted Alder. It was very possible for her to hide her pregnancy if she stayed out of camp anytime she could. Though she would have to find a new mother to drop the pups off with, and if she couldn't find one she would have to just find somewhere to leave them in the woods- and that just didn't sit right with her.
Alder began giving her side glances whenever she'd pass by. Snapdragon became worried that her condition was becoming obvious. She had limited her food intake and rarely came into camp at this point.
Snapdragon met the end of her pregnancy, and still had no idea how she would get rid of the pups. She needed to nest herself though, so she found a dip in the earth with a fallen tree for cover over top. She built a make-shift nest and stayed there for a moment, exhausted. Who would care for her pups? No, not hers. She would not be a mother.
She had to pick somebody, so she lay in her nest and thought about who. The first to come to mind was Scry and Hyena. Those two were decent parents she thought, and they would be these pups' biological grandparents. But it didn't sit right and Snap wondered if they would even take them unquestioningly. Then her mind roamed to her so-called brother Alder and more specifically his mate Quisca. Everyone in the pack knew her to be pup-crazed after Scry had a litter, and Alder had always been quiet-natured and simpish. She really ought to know more about them as they were meant to be family, but Snap never considered beyond her mother and littermates. Sometimes Pebble, depending on her mood, but never all her adoptives. Maybe once thought kindly of Wiley, but she still wasn't sure if that was brotherly. She decided she would talk with Alder when she caught him leaving camp to gather herbs.
When she caught him leaving camp, Snap followed Alder for a few minutes. He must've known she was there and not cared, or was just dense as he never seemed to notice her noise in the bushes. She could swear she used to know how to be silent, but now that was hard. She felt clumsy. Eventually she pushed through the branches and met Alder face to face in a small glade with a couple herby looking flowers at the edge of the tree line. He turned to face her unsurprised. The two mumbled awkward greetings and he began to collect herbs along the tree line of the glade they had ended up in. She got to the point quickly and addressed her pregnancy, and how she never meant for pups. In the end Alder was faced with a question, "Will you take these pups?" He wanted to say no, that he wasn't ready for that yet, but after a silent moment he answered quietly, "I uh, sure, I'll have to speak with Quis of course, but I'm certain she wouldn't mind being a mother to another wolf's pups. I think adoption was always on the table for us. And this way we'll still be family no matter what."
She waited what felt like forever in that glade for Alder to return with his mate. When he did she seemed confused. They talked it over and Snapdragon felt both relieved and broken when Quisca agreed to take her pups.
Birth was very traumatic for her. She had been in her nest with Alder and Quis there for support and to take the pups back to camp claiming them as theirs. After each pup had finished nursing they were carried back to camp and Snapdragon almost wanted to follow, to carry one of them back herself, to tell them to forget it all together, but she would not be a good mother and those pups deserved more. It was too late to turn back. She wondered how her pups would be fed until they were weaned, how they would grow up seeing her, what their names would be. Now she wished she named them. Her mind was all over the place, but everyplace it went had something to do with those four little pups- two of which had their father's blue gray coloring, one that looked a lot like Scry, and one little girl who was a dull brown and gray. She wondered if Alder and Quisca would even be able to pull it off. No one had known her to be pregnant, she had no milk, and the pups didn't even look like them on top of that.
Alder and Quisca got the pup/nursing den all to themselves, and so she would go in ever few hours when very few wolves were around to feed the pups. Alder informed her during one of these feedings that they had chosen names for their pups, Slate, Murk, Dusk, and Dove. The names weren't what she would have picked, but it wasn't her place to think such a thing about pups that weren't hers anymore.
Shadow, Pebble's father, became pair bonds with her mother, Willow. Snapdragon wanted him to go away and it to be just her littermates and her mother again. They adopted Alder, her new brother from the enclave not long after, Snapdragon also didn't appreciate the new sibling.
