Ilex

Ilex - the mate of Sequoia and other founder of the pack.

Her story and Sequoia's may seem similar, but they're quite different. Ilex was a bisexual wolf whose pack accepted her. She was still loved very much by her family despite her sexuality. She was fascinated by herbal remedies and medicinal plants as a young adolescent, including more deadly things. It was obvious that she would become the herbalist of her pack. Something happened one day, though, that drove her to the unspeakable. Her oldest brother, the second in command of her pack, was not supportive of her and also liked to call her bad things and physically attack her. Ilex, known as Daisy at the time, couldn't stand any more of his abuse and hid poisonous plants in his kill. Unfortunately for Ilex, he sniffed it out and didn't eat it. He also didn't warn the rest of the family either and they feasted on the kill. Ilex watched in horror as three of her loving family members dropped to the ground coughing and dying. This included the alpha, her mother, and another wolf that wasn't related to her. Her oldest brother exiled her and nearly killed her, but she ran out of the Grasslands and into the Mountains where she met Sequoia.
