First Winged

Loving, independent and free like a bird.

A light-pelted female literally crawled through the raging snowstorm, her desperate howl eerily echoing, bringing severe shivers to her spine.

"Please! What wrong have I done?!"

A response would never come, and, while still awaiting, Snowbird realized that. The usual sparkling of her azure eyes now seemed dull, pawpads frayed and spirit fade.

"Hear me out! Somebody!"

The canine stood. A few crystallized years fell down, instantly dissolving in the hardened snow. Snowbird looked down dreadfully. Oh!- That- wasn't snow.

The wolf stood right infront of a puddle. Her claw gently plunged into the small water source, forming a fewer ripple. Surprisingly, this amused the snowy predator, as Snowbird dips keenly.

How much time passed? She didn't know. Snowbird barely felt her paws, moving them back and forth for an unknown period was totally exhausting. Deep blue of her eyes reflected, forcing herself to jolt back and remember what was happening. A snowy white figure appeared, dissolved and appeared infront of her. As Snowbird blinks frequently, she doubts her sanity before approaching warily.

Eyes squinting of the snow flowing into the azure, the entity.. flapped it's wings? Just a bird. Snowbird shook her head, did she actually believe this was some kind of deity that might get her out of this misery?

The white dove's gaze seemed reproaching as the wolf fastened her pace to skip the avian. A realizing thought came to her mind.

"I'm named after one of these.. What if they're really trying to help me?"

Sudden turn, the feathered one seemed to smirk, but not maliciously, opposite: proud of the predator's decision. Snowbird awkwardly smiled back, was she dead? Her paws led her, the female felt like if she held no control of her body as she, mesmerized, pads along.

"We're there yet?"

The dove cooed serenely, calming Snowbird's short temper down.

Am I sane? Did this bird understand me? Ah.

Muzzle dropped, paws felt paralyzed and unable to move any longer. The last thing Snowbird heard was a calm avian's cry.



Sudden warmth. Life and freshness began to spread through her body, her mouth felt a delicate bitter. Snowbird's eyes fluttered open, catching a deep emerald green of another, silver wolf's glance.

She felt too weak to flood the other grey-ish canine with questions. Seems like they weren't in the mood to chat either, as Snowbird spots their glistening paws tangled with vines and flowers. They smiled, nudging the light one to a.. pinch of herbs? How was this supposed to help? Snowbird turns with an eyebrow raise, but the silver one's gaze remained harsh like steel itself. Her voice spoke cold as the storming outside.

"Silverflight."

Catching her breath, the other one responds.

"Snowbird."
