Biography
Name means: literally, fast and agile, wise, a little rude. Wolves hearing this name may expect a grumpy older wolf, one who is good at hunting but at loathe to give up the secrets of their technique. In Dog's language it means something more akin to "playful sled puller".
Year 8
Spring - Korh is... strange. All the pupsitters notice it. Her words come out funny, her fur is patchy and soft, she's fast on her feet, but immature and clumsy in her play.
And then there's the name. Korh. She's fast, yes, and could be considered a little rude for her slowness, but wise? The name divides the pack, some calling it optimistic, some calling it unfair to the pup, and others still pitying a wolf named too soon who won't be able to live up to it's mother's expectations.
Summer - Korh notices the pity and it breaks her a little. At 6 months old she still struggles to speak as well as a pup half her age, but her body language has improved and the other wolves get the idea of what she wants to say, even if it's not exact. She's proud of how far she's come, but hates how the other wolves baby her, especially her mother. Baak alternates between insisting she's a completely normal pup who should join in with everything her peers do, and trying to keep her safe from the stares and judgement of other wolves. This causes tension between the two, with Korh often lashing out in frustration and sulking by herself for hours.
Autumn - As the seasons change, and after a particularly nasty disagreement, Tjai finds Korh sulking and acts goofy until she's doubled over and panting with laughter. Afterwards, his visits become more regular. Tjai seems to love cheering her up with his jokes and stories, and teaching her how to be a chaser like her mother and grandmother before her. Other wolves have started to speculate that he is secretly her father, despite Baak's insistence that it was a roaming wolf.
Winter - Early in Winter Korh decides to forgo her yearling roam, despite the wishes of her mother. She confides in Tjai about her crush on one of the other yearlings a little older than her, Xhoukan of the sub-pack. Tjai is apprehensive about Korh confessing her feelings, as he is worried that's her only reason for not leaving, and knows Xhoukan's reputation as a serious and somewhat intimidating young wolf.
Korh takes this as an insult and runs away, leaving her mother distraught and Tjai to suffer the brunt of her wrath.
Year 9
Spring - Korh returns late in spring, her speech a little improved, and her skills as a chaser undeniable. She apologises to her mother and the rest of the pack, and explains that she had travelled all the way to Doods Lake where she was taken in by two kind older wolves. Baak is still torn between wanting to protect or praise her pup, so Yai steps in to suggest she move to the sub-pack and apprentice under his nephew Yaafsai. Tjai tries to subtly hint that she shouldn't, but Korh accepts and leaves without another word.
Whilst in the sub-pack, Korh joins a hunting party with Xhoukan, trying desperately to catch his attention on the hunts. When Tjai finally comes to see her, she acts defensive, expecting to be patronised and pitied for her behaviour, but instead he apologises to her, and offers her his sincere friendship and advice, should she ever need it.
