Haven

Newly born atop the peaks of of the rocky mountain range, Haven's name was whispered softly in her ear by her mother, her father wrapped around them both in a warm embrace. The cold air made it hard for her first couple of breaths, and she made a tiny, whimpering sound as her tummy rumbled and her skin shivered. Her mothers cool nose gently nuzzled her towards her stomach to feed, as she bumped into another stumbling pup, who she climbed all over and under as they explored the warmth of each other and their parents. Finally cozied up and filling her small belly with warm milk, she dozes off to the sound of the soft licks of her father grooming her mothers face.

Pressed snuggly at the mouth of their den, little Haven watched contently as her sister, Ember, chased a butterfly through the tall grass. Her tail thumps rhythmically before she springs up, attempted to pounce on Ember. As they tumble down the small slope, they giggle and swat at eachother with their paws.
