Her paws barely touched the earth as she flew through the grass, her passing making barely a whisper. There was more at stake than prey in this chase- she needed to prove him wrong.
A teal blur made its way through the bushes, keeping pace with her as she ran. Faster, she thought, I need to be faster.
She gritted her teeth and lunged forward, finally catching sight of their quarry. A rabbit, too small to sustain their pack, sure, but it was prey that would take a skilled hunter to catch.
'May the insects who dwell in the blessed undergrowth grant me the tenacity to stay true,' she thought, breathing deeply. At once, she put on a burst of speed, overtaking the rabbit and silencing its sharp cry. The other wolf finally caught up- Her mate. He sneered, but eventually nodded.
"Nice job, Ghost. What, did it trip and fall?" He asked snidely.
Ghost looked up at him, unruffled. "No," she answered, "But even if it did, it means you can't keep up with a lame rabbit to begin with."
She loved him dearly.

Blue ghost is another hunter, the leader of the other group. The two hunting groups were at each other's throats constantly, figuratively speaking. Nothing like coming to blows, so much as bickering and fighting amongst themselves. The hive was constantly bustling, and as the lead Huntress, it was her duty to keep them all in line. The meanest of them all was arguably not her mate, but he was definitely infuriating. It was part of his allure. They would fight, viciously, and after a harsh reprimand from Dermestid they stopped, but not altogether. They would still bicker, and tease, and try to outdo one another. It ended up where each looked forward to it, and craved the other's attention. Eventually, Blue Death and Blue Ghost claimed each other, but not much has changed.
