As a pup, Eirian looked forward to taking the role of alpha when she became an adult. But what she hadn't expected, was the responsibilities that came with it. Before she died, the previous alpha, Zakiita, had told Eirian why she was chosen. It was because Zakiita, who has drastically changed the packs ways, and made them explore the world, moving their location every month or so, so they could be more open minded, and be able to empathize with other wolves of other territories. Zakiita taught them how to be strong, and resilient, and fierce. But now she needed Eirian to teach them how to dream. Throughout puphood, Zakiita had seen Eirian's joyful wonder and curiosity. While Eirian wasn't nearly as fierce as her predecessor, she would teach the pack not what to think, but how to think. A few weeks after Zakiita told her this, she passed away, leaving Eirian to step up as alpha. It was fun, at first. Eirian got the first pick of meat, and she had the coziest den. But then arguments would break out every now and then, and she had to resolve those. A month or so into her role as alpha, the disasters started. Storms constantly ravaged the lands, droughts, tornadoes, hurricanes. But the most heartbreaking thing were the animals she'd find while exploring. They were bloodied, sick, and couldn't be helped. But what got to her was that they were broken. They were numb. And they didn't care anymore. Thyme tried to help, she would give them as many healing salves as she could spare, but it wasn't enough. And sometimes the kindest thing she could do for them was offer them a quick death. With each of them, she left a piece of her heart, until there came a point when there was barely any left to give. One day, she sat up atop a hill that overlooked the pack, her white crown of antlers sat atop her head, which was from the magic of the cryptids that had appeared when the storms did. She reflected on herself, and remembered how excited she'd been to become alpha, but now she would do anything to be blissfully ignorant again. She then remembered the animals she'd first seen when the storms started, and how pained they were. How they'd grown emotionless, and numb. They were broken. Was she now too?

Eirian has changed relatively little of the pack, she feels there should be a moment of calm, as the last leader drastically changed the traditions and much of the pack laws. After all, the previous alpha even told her that she needed to teach them something new. How to dream and be open minded. However, this seems to be increasingly difficult for Eirian, as she feels herself being lost to all the hatred and rage in the creatures around her. She tries to be a mediator, but the longer this animosity continues, the more heartbroken and secluded she feels.
