After mistaking Aloy as his sister and following her up a mountainside, Nil was adopted into Boldridge Pack. Nynaeve gave him the option of training with her pups, per pack rules, or choosing to find his own way back to his original pack. Figuring that Aloy, while she hadn't exactly been LOVING while traveling with him, was about as close to "family" as he had since he didn't exactly remember his old pack, he chose to stay. Seeing his precise nature, Nynaeve suggested he train to be a Finisher in her hunting parties. While not quite as enthusiastic as the new Pup Uthid about it, Nil knew choosing to play to his strengths would appease the Alpha and gain him some respect should he decide to leave the pack.
