It was a warm summer afternoon and there was a beautiful she-wolf and her three pups playing not to far from a cave they called their home. Her yellow pelt shone like the sun as it's light hit her back. A small pup with a dark pelt pounced on a smaller pup, growling. "Brooklyn! Be careful with your sister, she ain't as big as you. You got that?" The she-wolf picked the pup up off of his sister, dropping him on the ground in between her paws. "Sorry mom." He stared at his paws, whimpering. "No, we will have none of that. No whimpering." She swatted at him, before lifting his head to have him face her. "Now, apologize to your sister." She pushed the pup gently towards his sister. "Sorry Hazelnut." He looked at the other pup, waiting for the response. "It's okay Brooklyn, you didn't mean anything." She turned away from her brother, playing in a nearby puddle. The yellow pelted she-wolf looked behind her, seeing a pup much smaller than the other two pups. "Rosemary, dear are you okay?" She helped the small pup up off the ground with her nose. "I'm okay mom, just tired." The small pup yawned, laying back down. "Okay... Okay pups, time to go home. Remember your older siblings and your father are waiting." She picked up the pale ball of fluff that was her now asleep pup and the other two followed on each side. "Hurry now, it's gettin' dark" She used her tail to push the pups in front of her. By now the sky was turning orange, matching the flowers that surrounded the cave. "Now pups, go get in your nests and get to sleep." She carefully placed Rosemary into a nest made of moss. "You seemed to be in a hurry to get home." A large wolf said as he emerged from a darker part of the cave. "Ah, well last time we stayed out late we almost lost a pup." She sat down in front of the larger male, licking his cheek affectionately. "Maybe I should take the pups out next time?" He offered, touching his nose to her's. "I think something might be wrong with Rosemary." She looked away, her ears falling to the sides of her head. "Huh, what make you think that?" He walked over to sit directly next to her, wrapping his tail around her. "She has been extremely tired lately and hasn't been eating." She looked back at her mate, sorrow in her eyes. "Mom, dad. Is something wrong with Rosemary?" The two wolves quickly looked to another part of the cave. "Oh, hey Ember, hey Robin." The yellow she-wolf greeted the two that stood a few feet away from them. "No, nothing is wrong with her." She reassured her older pups. "Now, go to sleep. You have much training tomorrow." The male stood up, leading the two to a different room. "Dad, please tell us the truth." The red pelted she-wolf looked her father in the eyes, worried. "I don't know, your mother just told me how she felt worried about Rosemary." He sat down next to his son and daughter. "Now, time to rest."
