Rift

She remembered the scorching sun. It dried everything out, until the only thing she was aware of was the awful, awful, sensation of heat. Then, when things had begun to flicker and fade, there was the familiar, familiar feeling of freezing water. And then she was playing in the fog with another pup, careful to not lose to sight of the muddy wolf leading them through it.

When they arrived in the new place, she stood closely with the pup she'd been playing with, paws shuffling against the cool ground. [WIP]
