Small Wind got their name because they aren't very big. They are actually very small. Like, the size of maybe a pup in training. Okay, maybe just slightly bigger than that. They are small, but pretty tough. And they like to let others know that they will do whatever it takes to defend their pack.
The reason for this is quite sad.
They came from one of the most well-known packs around. For many reasons now, of course. They did what they were told by their father, the leader, and a lot of trust was put into them to protect this pack; their family. They stood guard often at night, and watched the pups during the day to make sure they were safe. All that mattered to them were their duties. They got joy out of their job, and they did it well... until one night.
One night, their friend, Rose Thorn, got them away from their guard post because they said there was danger by the meadow. After a few minutes of following, Small Wind heard screams from camp. They tried to run, but Rose Thorn tackled them. "Sorry, Small Wind, but it's time for a new leadership around here."
Small Wind snarled, and fought their former friend. It was a rough battle, as Rose Thorn was almost twice the size of them, and bigger than any enemy they have ever handled. But eventually, they got the upper hand, and killed the bigger wolf. They ran back home, only to see their friends and family laying dead. And the attackers dying in the shadows.
They were so angry. At them, and at themself. "Why would you do this?! What was the point of this if you will die when the morning comes?!" But the attackers were all too weak to respond.
Small Wind spent that night burying their family, and stayed, watching, until the rebels had died.
The pack became known for being the most powerful one day, to completely destroyed with no one left the next.
Small Wind spent six months sleeping outside the entrance when they met River Runner, who laid with them, and talked to them, hearing their story. They were invited to join River Runner, but they spent a few days thinking about it before showing up at camp one day.
You see them sitting tall at the entrance. Small Wind looks at you. "What's your business here?"
