Kingpin

Kingpin was born in the mountains to Fae, his mother, and Sigma, his father. Kingpin was the only cub that came out alive, aside from his brother Duck. Sigma was pleased at the birth of two males and crowned Kingpin, the eldest, the future ruler of Sigma's pack, River Has No End. Kingpin grew up quite close with Duck, and the two became inseparable by the time they were young adults. But one night, everything came crashing down. Kingpin, who was coming back from a hunt, walked in on Sigma and Duck locked in fierce battle. Fae was on the sidelines, curled in a ball and weeping. Kingpin asked his mother what was going on, and Fae admitted that Duck and her had been eloping for the past several months and Sigma found out that Fae was pregnant with his babies. It was bad enough that Fae had been impregnated by a beta male, but the fact that it was her own kin disgusted Sigma to the point where he wanted to kill Duck. Nobody else was around— they were in the Alpha cave— but Kingpin knew if this secret got out his pack may go to pieces. Without thinking, Kingpin jumped in to help Duck kill Sigma— but Sigma, having years of battle experience, killed Duck and threw Kingpin aside. But Sigma still loved his sons dearly, and the pain of killing just one was unbearable. So he gave Kingpin a choice— he could forget all this happened, blame Duck's death on a hunting mishap and kill Fae's pups when they arrived— or he could wait until Fae's pups were born, take them, and leave. Kingpin could not bear the pain of losing Duck, so he decided to take Fae's pups and leave; the last part of Duck he would have left. But he found out he could not wait as pack life became hell, so he wandered out into the mountains alone and created the Dawn Not Yet Ventured pack— and what happened next, we will have to see….
