Goldeneye was born to Laila and Fragment. Laila was shot by a hunter however early into Goldeneye's life, so Fragment was stuck raising her as a single dad. Fragment loved Laila deeply, but didn't even want to father cubs in the first place, so he forced Goldeneye to fight him to earn the territory they shared. Goldeneye reluctantly agreed, and the two engaged in a fight. Fragment would have won had he not mistepped, causing Goldeneye to miscalculate a bite and snap him in the throat. Fragment bled out, congratulated his daughter sadly, and walked a few paces away before collapsing. Goldeneye cried for days, as she did not mean to kill her father, and Kingpin, Beetle and Deluge eventually found her curled up besides Fragment's rotting corpse. They rescued her, made her one of their own, and she is now a valued member of the pack.
