Tinkerbell

Several years ago, in 2016, I came across an abandoned cat at an emergency animal hospital. I was asked if I wanted to take her home, and something in my entire body screamed that I needed to take her.

Enter Tinkerbell. She was a young baby, approximately 4-5 months old. Gentle and soft, full of love and affection. Quirky and sweet. Playful and energetic. Smart and funny. She quickly attached herself to me, and we became inseparable.

"I get to love you.
It's the best thing that I'll ever do."

Tinkerbell goes by many names — Stink, Stinky, Tinky, Belle, Baby, Bubby, Tink, or any combination of them all. Her fur is silky soft and smooth to the touch. She eats only the finest raw diet, and is spoiled daily with treats. She's obedience trained, knowing several key commands including sit, recall, and up. She's crate and leash trained.

Our relationship slowly progressed further until we were completely, hopelessly codependent. When separated, even for a short period of time, we're equally miserable. We are each other's emotional support. We are each other's protectors. We watch over each other, and are always there for one another. She is my soul. She knows when I'm feeling sick. She knows when I'm scared, anxious, or sad. She knows when I'm having a panic attack, or when I'm boiling over in anger or paranoia. She calms me in seconds, resets me to zero. She rushes to my side when I'm sick to my stomach, and she comforts me after my nightmares. In turn, I protect her with my all, and make sure she feels safe when she's sick or scared.

Baby Belle has gotten me through many challenges, both mentally and physically, in her time with me. She is the reason I'm alive. She is my entire world. There will never be another one like her.
