During his lessons: Dustin examined Maris's technique while he chased a young stoat. The young pup kept getting discouraged, but he will learn that failures are a part of the lesson. Leaves? Rocks? Underbrush? Twisted tree stump? Eroded slope? Maris learned to use any environment and its features to camouflage successfully. Maris leaped into the air, going after a dead bird that Aubin had thrown into the air to simulate flight. He was able to grab it and pin it down, standing on the wings and going for the neck like Aubin showed him.
