Shooting Star, along with their friend Moonbeam and their sister Venus, is the founder of the Band of Stars. What started as a small, familial group became in what is now a fully fledged pack, with several wolves living together and sharing the same territory, all obediently following Shooting Star's command. But Shooting Star never expected to be a leader in their young age...
Before they were fully adults Shooting Star and Venus were fending for themselves. They had been separated from their family during a terrible storm in their younger years and thus had to learn to survive on their own. For Shooting Star, Venus was all they had left of their family, and they vowed no matter what to stick by her side. Together they hunted and traveled through the land, with no particular destination in mind, but instead a desire to see what the world had to offer.
As time went on Shooting Star came across a young adolescent wolf wandering all alone. After some questioning the young wolf introduced himself as Moonbeam and explained he too along with his sister had been separated from his family. His sister had passed away from an illness only days before. Understanding his plight and sympathetic towards his sorrow, Shooting Star insisted Moonbeam travel with them and Venus, and thus the small band was born.
Nearly a year after traveling together, the tight-knit group decided to find a place to settle down. Drawn to the mountains, they traversed the rocky terrain to see if there was any territory they could claim. Sure enough, they found a clearing that smelled of no wolves and bountiful prey. It didn't take long to make it home, and as time went on and Shooting Star encountered more and more wolves with nowhere to go. Through their extended and warm welcome, the small band grew to the size of the pack that it is today.
